PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) today announced that Nik Pereira will join the organization as vice president of sales. A 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Pereira will lead the convention sales team in achieving the organization's meeting and convention booking goals through strategic planning and strong client relationship building.
Pereira most recently served as director of sales for The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, overseeing group, transient and catering sales for the luxury hotel. Prior to his position at The Ritz-Carlton, he held the role of area director of sales and marketing for Hersha Hospitality Management.
“Nik has a proven track record of results-driven sales and I am pleased to welcome him to our team,” said Maria Grasso, PHLCVB senior vice president, convention division. “Based on his experience, Nik is perfectly positioned to foster strong relationships with local hotel sales teams while keeping the customer experience top of mind. I have no doubt he will be a great asset to our organization.”
In this role, Pereira will be charged with the continued building and development of the PHLCVB's high-performing sales team through coaching and performance metrics. He will also be responsible for large accounts and key industry events in addition to supporting the sales team in scheduling client events and tradeshows. Pereira will also collaborate closely with the Pennsylvania Convention Center to ensure alignment of strategy and processes.
“Nik's strong reputation in the industry, in addition to his understanding of the overall market and industry trends, will ensure his success at the PHLCVB,” said Len Buckley, vice chair of the PHLCVB board of directors.
Pereira holds a bachelor's degree in hospitality administration from the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration and a master's in business administration from Johnson and Wales University.
